The Official American League (Johnson) baseball presented here is a single-season format that definitively dates the autographs of these Yankee legends to their greatest campaign. For Ruth, whose sweet spot signature rates 7/10, his single-season home run record was enhanced to an even five dozen. For Gehrig, who is a light but legible 1/10 on the northern panel, an American League MVP award found a place in his trophy case next to a World Championship ring. A letter of provenance from the original owner reports that this ball was fouled into the bleachers by Gehrig in Sioux City, Iowa as the Yankee legends were engaged in their first of two Bustin' Babes vs. Larrupin' Lous barnstorming tours in 1927 and 1928.
