A year after losing 107 games and starting the season 0-21, the Baltimore Orioles rebounded to a, if not outstanding, respectable 87 wins in 1989. Cal Ripken Jr continued to be his customary consistent self, going 47 games in a row without an error at one point, and finishing the year with a .990 fielding percentage (along with a .257 batting average), making All-Stars and a winning a Silver Slugger Award. Mr. Oriole wore this Rawlings official size 48 (with +2 length) Orioles jersey when he played on the road that season. Light but consistent wear is exhibited with some fraying to the twill stitched identifiers. The front interior has four labels: Rawlings official licensee label with size 48; 2 inch extra length; Set 1 1989; and a "T", denoting custom tapering. The jersey has gone onto be signed by The Iron Man in black felt tip marker along the front, "Cal Ripken Jr." Accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) for the autograph. This is guaranteed to pass MEARS authentication for the game use. Full certification for this item can be acquired for an additional fee.
