Here is a supremely rare 1987 RIAA hologram platinum award commemorating the sale of more than one million copies of Guns N’ Roses monumental album “Appetite For Destruction”. The award has been signed by all five original members of Guns N’ Roses: Axl Rose (who signed his name “W. Axl Rose”), Slash, Duff McKagen, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler. The award was presented to a Geffen Records executive instrumental in advancing Guns N’ Roses visibility through MTV.
Comes with a detailed letter of authenticity from the Geffen Records executive which reads: “I was employed by Geffen Records in Los Angeles, California from 1985 -1991. I was the National Video Promotion Representative for the label. MTV being the largest outlet at the time for maximum exposure to new music. The record labels relied heavily on the videos they made of their artists and if you were played heavily on MTV, you were almost assured great success. I worked very closely with Alan Niven, who was the Manager for Guns N Roses during this period. As a reward for my dedication and hard work, the band and management gave me this RIAA autographed ‘Appetite For Destruction’ platinum award, which I have had in my possession ever since.”
A rare vintage-signed GNR platinum award for their breakthrough album gifted directly by the band to a Geffen Records executive. The framed award measures 18 inches x 22 inches.
