For many baseball viewers in the 1970s, it simply didn't get any better than "Hammerin' Hank" Aaron. Shot into the spotlight as a young player, signed items are becoming more desirable as the slugger's age progresses and he is no longer actively signing. Even better than signed, though, is anything game used by the real Home Run King. Aaron's popularity grew to almost unforeseen levels by the 1975-76 season, but before he hung up his cleats for the final time, he returned to his baseball roots in Milwaukee, playing his final season with the Brewers. Due to his mass following, it was not uncommon for his gamers to be taken from his locker, whether by media members, staffers, or just passersby. One such of those jerseys is offered here, obtained from a Brewers equipment manager tasked with assisting Aaron in any way he may need. After Aaron's final game, the staffer cleaned out Aaron's locker and held onto this game worn jersey. Although the jersey is not the typical Sand Knit of the time for the Brewers, a jersey from the same era with similar McAuliffe tagging was gifted by Aaron to the Smithsonian, adding credibility to the offered example. Additionally, due to the crazy amount of attention Aaron was receiving at the time and how quickly his jerseys disappeared from his locker, it is perfectly logical to assume that the team did not have enough sets of Sand Knit jerseys to fill the demand, and jerseys such as this were worn in their place. Don't miss your opportunity to own this jersey from one of Hammerin' Hank's final times on the diamond! Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from staffer Rick Napholz of the Brewers, the original obtainee.
