Best known for such canonical novels as Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hugo would see incredible success all across Europe at a time when books and print were as powerful as ever. Some of that power and success along with his inflammatory writings denouncing Louis-Napoleon forced him into a two-decade exile. Due to his exile, signed material is rare in any format, particularly photographs. Offered here is a seldom seen oversized 17.5" x 22.5" Bonnett Pinx photograph signed in bold black ink by Victor Hugo in iron gall ink.
