Irving Berlin - the man who gave us White Christmas, God Bless America & There's No Business Like Show Business - composed several songs for Dwight D. Eisenhower throughout his Presidential campaigns. His first, "They Like Ike", was penned for his 1952 election, while the song featured here, "Ike for Four More Years" was the anthem for his re-election in 1956. Eisenhower honored the songwriter with a medal for "his services in composing many popular songs" as well as for assisting the World War II General with one of the most memorable political advertising campaigns in U.S. history. This 9" x 12" cover for the sheet music of "Ike for Four More Years" has been signed by the composer in blue ballpoint pen - "To Col. Robert Schultz with my very best wishes, Irving Berlin". In fine condition with minor handling wear, the cover is affixed to a page of a scrapbook. Authenticated by Beckett/BAS with a full letter of authenticity.
