A military appointment assigning Milton Hall to a four-year term as a Naval Officer for the naval district of Newport, Rhode Island. Countersigned below the blindstamped seal of the Treasury Department by Secretary of Treasury James Guthrie. In very good to fine condition, with moderate separation at folds and paper loss to document; Pierce signature itself remains quite large and bold. Tastefully archivally matted and framed to an overall size of 24.5” x 21."
