Presentation of an authentic golf ball used by John F. Kennedy, nicely framed with a plaque, and an image of the original complete set of golf balls and carry tote, to overall size of 15.5" x 9.5.” Golf ball itself is housed in a custom-made insert within the mat. A wonderful presentation of a John F. Kennedy owned and used golf ball.

Kennedy used this while playing golf during his six month assignment in Charleston, South Carolina while stationed with the District Security Office of the 6th Naval District Headquarters. A well documented piece, having been acquired directly by Lt. Elijah N. Jones, then by descent to his son. Lt. Jones was Kennedy's direct report and the two shared an interest in golf.

Ultimately, John Kennedy requested to be transferred to an active combat zone, and Elijah Jones was instrumental in securing Kennedy a position with the patrol torpedo boat service on the PT 109. PT-109 (Patrol Torpedo boat) was last commanded by Lieutenant, junior grade (LTJG) John F. Kennedy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Kennedy's actions to save his surviving crew after the sinking of PT-109 made him a war hero, which proved helpful in his political career.

An beautiful display piece, would make an excellent gift for a golf lover or collector of JFK memorabilia. Letter of provenance documenting golf ball is included.
