A chance to own one of the rarest autographs - ever! Ludwig van Beethoven lived from 1770-1827 and was such a brilliant composer and pianist that his classic symphonies remain among the most popular and important in the classical music canon nearly 200 years after his death. Presented here is a remarkably clean and legible example of one of the most sought-after signatures in history. The offered lot has a fine signature that is nearly 3 1/2 inches long on period parchment. Housed most fittingly in a museum-quality 33” x 25” custom framed display that features an image of the iconic composer, along with an engraved descriptive plaque. To simply call Beethoven a “rare” autograph is a gross understatement. Given his impact on music, most of his writings, on the rare occasion they surface, are swiftly acquired by museums and conservative institutions. And, based on our extensive research, there have been less than ten (10) fully authenticated examples of Beethoven’s coveted scripting to ever surface in the hobby. A true museum-quality investment piece of the utmost scarcity. Accompanied by full Letters of Authenticity from PSA/DNA and James Spence Authentication (JSA).
