Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig are the only signatures on the ONL (Heydler) baseball, but perhaps no two signatures go together as well as do those of this Yankee duo. Their baseball feats are the stuff of myth and lore - "Ruth and Gehrig" - a phrase that evokes images of Yankee Stadium and majestic home runs. Ruth hit his homers high and deep. Babe is credited by the "Home Run Encyclopedia" as having hit 500-foot home runs in every American League Park during the 1921 season alone, with many others in succeeding years. Gehrig hit screaming line drive home runs that crashed into distant seats with the force of a sledgehammer. Certainly their appeal has not diminished in the decades since they last took the field of ball. This ball, showing signs of game use, has Ruth on the sweet spot and Gehrig on an adjacent side panel. The stampings on the ball confine its production to a two-season span - 1926 or 1927. An attractive baseball with two highly sought after signatures from the "Bambino" and the "Iron Horse". Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
