For some collectors, the chance to own a single signed Honus Wagner baseball in any format is a true blessing, as it is easily one of the toughest & most desirable single signed baseballs in all the hobby. Not only is he the face of the most expensive and high profile baseball card ever, he is also considered one of the best players to lace up a pair of cleats for a baseball game. Wagner was also a loyalist, staying within the Pirates organization for over 50 years, racking up 3,420 hits while batting .328 lifetime, then donning a coach's uniform for nearly four decades. "You can have your Cobbs, your Lajoies, your Chases, your Bakers," said Hall of Fame manager John McGraw, "but I'll take Wagner as my pick of the greatest." Offered here is an unofficial baseball that has been signed on the sweet spot by Wagner in black ink. Stamping on the ball has faded considerably, but the ball offers an 8/10 quality signature along with "Pirate Coach 2-11-46". The autographed area has been heavily coated with shellac to preserve the signature. Considering the rarity of these single signed treasures, this ball has a lot of things going for it. Wagner signed baseballs on the sweet spot are particularly rare given his preference of the east or west pane. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
