Ty Cobb's playing style cannot be summed up in one word, but if we had to choose one, it would be nothing other than ferocious. The Georgia Peach would grace the diamond for over 20 years, amassing over 4000 hits & an incredible .366 lifetime batting average. Cobb would be the first player in Major League Baseball history to reach the 4000 hit milestone. Oddly enough, Cobb would quit his role as the player/manager of the Tigers in 1927 to join the Philadelphia Athletics in order to achieve that historic milestone. Following his career, Cobb would make savvy investments & amass a much larger fortune than the game he loved could have provided at that time. Offered here is a crisp signed image by The Georgia Peach while on the prowl awaiting a hit on the diamond. Overall in fine condition. Authenticated & encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services/BAS.
