This is a signed address panel from Martin Van Buren to his younger brother Lawrence Van Buren in their hometown of Kinderhook, NY. The panel is actually signed by Martin Van Buren at the top, and initialed by him again at the bottom. On the back of the panel is part of the letter to Lawrence Van Buren. The letter is apparently about the eviction of renters. The panel is postmarked Oct. 12 from Albany, NY state capital, about 20 miles north of Kinderhook. It was possibly mailed between 1812 and 1820 when Martin Van Buren was a NY State Senator and NY Attorney General. The item is in fair condition with a decent amount of wear and creasing, as well as several tape marks from repaired tears. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Steve Grad/Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
