American novelist, humorist and social critic, Mark Twain (1835-1910) was the nom de plume of Samuel Clemens, who started as a printer and boat pilot, and then began writing humorous short stories. He was encouraged by Bret Harte, and soon authored his first novel, Innocents Abroad. He is best remembered for his novels A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Offered is a choice black ink signature on a cabinet card photograph dated April 1909. The signature is handsomely matted along with portraits of Twain and the front covers of some of his books, and housed in a tasteful black matte finish frame to a total size of 26.5" x 27.5". In fine condition. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
