With John Glenn's passing in 2016, the first seven American astronauts chosen to lead the fledging US space program in 1959 are now dead, ending a groundbreaking chapter in American history. This crew of military aviators, known as the Original Seven, or "Mercury 7," proved that spaceflight was possible, paving the way for the likes of the future Apollo missions that would ultimately win the US the space race. Offered here is an ULTRA-RARE color 8" x 10" photograph signed by all seven members of the original crew that started it all. Signatures in vintage ballpoint include: Alan B. Shepard, Jr., Virgil I. Grissom, M. Scott Carpenter, Walter W. Schirra, Jr., Donald K. Slayton, John H. Glenn, Jr., and Leroy G. Cooper, Jr. Overall in fine condition with minor handling wear to the professional frames exterior. While any Mercury 7 signed items are scarce, color images such as this are "out of this Wolrd!"
