The 49ers of the 1980s were an unstoppable force, with Joe Montana at the helm. In 1987, the Niners won their division for the second consecutive season and ended the season as the top seed in the NFC playoffs. Despite the season ending with an upset loss to the Vikings in the playoffs, with an end record of 13-2, the team still had a fantastic season, and would go onto win the Super Bowl just one year later in 1988. Offered here is a Wilson NFL white panel "San Francisco 49ers World Champions" football signed by 13 members of the 1987 squad, including Hall of Famer Joe Montana as well as notables Eric Wright, Randy Cross, Roger Craig, Tom Rathman, and Brent Jones. In excellent condition, the football was initially obtained from John McVay, a personal friend of the consignor's family and the General Manager of the 49ers at the time. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
