This ship's passport document, dated September 29, 1802, has been signed by not one, but two founding fathers - President Thomas Jefferson and his Secretary of State (and future President) James Madison. The document has wear along the border and some spotting and toning, normal signs of aging, but still stands in fine condition and provides for outstanding eye appeal. The document was issued for the ship Milpomene of New York, Lloyd S. [Dauteeny] as master or commander, with the load of 226 tons with 11 men to pass any port freely as a ship of the United States. Dual-signed documents by these two historical figures are rare! See images for details on condition. Accompanied by full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
