In this document dated February 24th, 1858, President James Buchanan grants the Secretary of State to affix the Seal of the United States to the envelope of a letter going to the President of Guatemala. Partially handwritten with a flourishing full signature from Buchanan. In fine condition with very minor handling wear to the edges and a couple of creases. The 8" x 10" letter has been framed ornately along with a photograph and plaque commemorating the President. The display measures to an overall size of 17" x 21". Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
