On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. would address the Nation from the Lincoln Memorial questioning the United States civil rights stance in a attempt for equality around the Nation. Announcing his "Dream" to the Nation, King would challenge the public to make his dream a reality, a struggle that goes on to this day. Offered here is a rare 8.5" x 11" typed letter dated just 6 weeks before this most famous of speeches, on July 19, 1963, signed at the conclusion "Martin" in bold blue ballpoint. Highlight content includes Martin Luther King regretfully declining an speaking engagement at a time which he already had another commitment. Overall in fine condition with horizontal folds. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
