The “king of pitchers”, Young holds the record for most wins in a career with an incredible and likely never to be exceeded total of 511. In addition to wins, Young holds the Major League records for most career innings pitched (7,355), most career games started (815), and most complete games (749). He also retired with 316 losses, the most in MLB history. Young was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 and one year after Young's death in 1955, the Cy Young Award was created to honor the previous season's best pitcher. Offered here is a 3" x 5" black & white postcard photograph featuring Cy Young in his later years and signed on the reverse in blue ballpoint pen. The card was mailed and exhibits handling wear but stands in overall fine condition. Please note that the autograph on the photo is a facsimile.
