Kenesaw Mountain Landis served as Major League Baseball's first Commissioner from 1920 until his death in 1944. He is most remembered for his handling of the Black Sox scandal, in which he expelled eight members of the Chicago White Sox from organized baseball for conspiring to lose the 1919 World Series. His firm actions and iron rule over baseball in the near quarter-century of his are generally credited with restoring public confidence in the game after its greatest scandal. Despite Landis' tremendous historical relevance, autographs of any sort are extremely seldom seen. Offered here is one of those rare artifacts, a 3.5" x 2.5" album page signed by the Original Commish himself in steel tip ink. In good condition, with the date "1940" notated. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
