Interesting content handwritten 5" x 6.5" letter signed “P. H. Sheridan,” one page both sides, June 11, 1881. Letter to General William Tecumseh Sherman. Letter content goes into military affairs that Sheridan is handling, most likely in regards to the Ute Wars (American Indian Wars). Sheridan & Sherman served an extensive history together with William Sherman preceding Philip Sheridan as United States Secretary of War along with their many military dealings. It's worth noting this is the first handwritten letter between the two we have found to surface to the public! Overall in good condition with horizontal & vertical folds, minor discoloration & paperloss.
