Roger Maris to this day is considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball world in 1961 by hitting "61 in 61" - pictured here - eclipsing Mantle & The Babe in the process. With a record that lasted nearly forty years, two MVP trophies, three World Championships (two in pinstripes) & still no nickname, Maris remains a very important figure in baseball history. While his position in MLB history may be cemented, his allure in the autograph world continues to gain momentum. This splendid 8" x 10" black & white photo of Maris in pinstripes as he hits his 61st home run in 1961 has been signed beautifully in black ballpoint pen, "Best Always, Roger Maris". Overall in fine condition with minor handling wear. Authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA) with a full letter of authenticity.
