Moe Berg was much more than a baseball player, if anything that was a cover up to his real duties, being a member of the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) as a spy. In a Fascinating bit of history, Berg was commissioned by the OSS to listen in on various physicists concerning the German nuclear program, with the former Yankee even being asked to kill if he assumed the Germans were getting close to figuring out the elusive atomic bomb. Luckily for the rest of the World, and the Scientist, Germany wasn't on-track to split the atom allowing for many of Berg's missions to be lost in history. During his travels in Europe this 1946 European train Passport was used & signed by Moe Berg. If only the 3.25" x 4.25" 24 page Passport could tell stories, we would expect some run ins with Nazi's to be one of them! Due to his efforts in Europe & Japan during the famed "Tour of Japan," Harry Truman would award Berg with the prestigious Medal of Freedom for his efforts! A true one of a kind offering from one of America's most covered spies. Overall in fine condition with expected handling wear.
