One of the hardest signatures to obtain in the entire hobby, and rightfully so, is “Forever 27” member & lead singer/guitarist for Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. Shortly before Kurt’s unfortunate death in April 1994, Cobain boarded a British Airway flight at JFK International in New York bound for London. At that time, the lucky recipient of this prized autograph just happened to be seated next to Cobain. The man offered Kurt Cobain a 2” x 3.5” business card which Cobain gladly signed in blue ballpoint with “8-9” strength. This rare full name example could very well be one of Kurt’s last autographs ever gifted as he passed on April 5th 1994. The rarity of Cobain signatures cannot be overlooked, in the years past his death only a few known authentic examples have surfaced, of which this may be the best known full name signature. A full letter of authenticity has been provided by JSA (James Spence Authentication) and the item has also been encapsulated by Beckett Grading Services.
