The limited distribution of Playboy magazine's early issues has caused many problems for collectors who are trying to complete the set. The availability of the first 12 issues ranges from "difficult" to "nearly impossible", with issues #2 and #3 being among the hardest to obtain. They seem to turn up far less frequently than the highly desirable issue #1. Collectors are typically quite pleased when they can find complete copies in any condition.
