Offered here is a 4.5" x 7" handwritten letter from President James Buchanan, dated September 3, 1836 and addressed "My dear sister". In the note, Buchanan confirms that he has credited her account for $201.02 and provides information on the remainder of the funds due to him from her, a total of $247.10. In fine condition with one horizontal and one vertical fold as well as light scattered surface impressions. The handwriting is neat and legible and stands out strongly against the lightly toned hue of the page. Authenticated with a full letter of authenticity from Beckett/BAS.
