Partly-printed Vellum 12" x 15" document signed as president at the conclusion by Martin Van Buren in striking black ink. Ship’s pass issued for “the Ship Gauges, William Wood, master or commander of the burthen of Three hundred and eighty tons or thereabouts, mounted with no guns navigated with twenty seven men. To pass with her Company, Passengers, Goods and Merchandize, without any hindrance, seizure or molestation.” Overall in excellent condition, rivaling even the finest preserved documents from that era. Authenticated by Beckett/BAS with a full letter of authenticity.
