Robert E. Lee secured his fame/notoriety as the commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia during the Civil War in 1862-65. Engaging in heated battles with Union forces baring only three stars as a General, equivalent to his last U.S. Army rank, the only member of the first five full Generals to not tote the general's insignia. Offered here is a tremendous 2.5" x 4" carte-de-visite portrait of the Confederate General, featuring his three star uniform, signed in the bottom portion "R. E. Lee." A striking offering that would test even the finest Robert E. Lee signed piece. Overall in excellent condition with minor discoloration. Authenticated & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
