According to one eye-witness (teammate Dock Ellis), Roberto Clemente sometimes busied himself, when in transit, by signing baseballs - particularly those bearing an Eastern Airlines stamp. Certainly, we don't know the details of how many he signed during the course of his endorsement for the air carrier, but he must have been sparing. In any event, Eastern Airlines singled out Clemente as their optimum spokesman, not only for his universal stardom, but also to lend a little flight security at a time when it was quite fashionable to hijack commercial planes to Latin America (especially the West Indies). As such, one of the offspring from that marriage made on Madison Avenue is here available. It's a Roberto Clemente single-signed and UNINSCRIBED baseball with a sweet spot writing (as should be expected), and as Clemente autographs are measured, this one is luxuriant - fully spanning 90 degrees across that surface. A ballpoint signature, there are some interruptions in the scribing, and the ball itself displays moderate cracking and chipping to the surface. Please see images for full details of condition. There are no other writings on the ball - only Eastern Airlines' logo stamped on the north panel. Don't miss this opportunity to add a single signed Clemente ball to your collection! They don't come around very often. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
