Offered here is an excellent early example of a true baseball relic! Within this signed contract, Roberto Clemente agreed to play for Los Nuevos Senadores for the 1965-66 Puerto Rican winter season for a small sum of $600 per month. In 1965, Clemente enjoyed another All-Star and Gold Glove season, leading the league in batting at .329. The winter ball must have been good for him, as he won his only NL MVP in the 1966 MLB season, making this contract even more significant. Clemente remains a large part of baseball culture and allure in Puerto Rico, with many players drawing to his inspiration. The contract is in overall excellent condition with very minor wear and folds. Clemente's blue ink signature rates a "9". A full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA accompanies the item.
