Roger Maris to this day is considered by many the real single season home run king, lighting up the baseball World in 1961 by hitting "61 in 61", eclipsing Mantle & The Babe in the process. Despite the fame of becoming the single season home run king, Maris would often step away from the limelight, including when he would sign many baseballs. Maris would often opt to sign on side panels due to his humble nature. Offered here is a beautifully single signed baseball, signed on south panel of an Official American League (MacPhail) baseball in incredibly bold black crayon. The ball exhibits scattered light spotting but is a mostly creamy sphere. There is a small slice through the top of the "M" of Maris and above the tail end of Roger, and the inscription on the north panel ("8/27/81, John Castino") has been penned in an unknown hand (although this is presumably the date that the ball was signed on). Overall in fine condition and highly desirable as a single-signed Maris ball! Full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
