While it's common knowledge that once 1963 came along, with the utter madness over The Beatles, that many items were signed by managers or other band members when autograph request were made but simply not able to be met. While we have handled many Beatles items from consignors or recipients that thought they had an authentic signed Beatles item to find out it's a common "club house" version, we have never seen an item quite like this unique offering. This original 8" x 10" black & white photograph has been proxy signed by Beatles long time manager Mal Evans adding "Paul McCartney," "George Harrison," & "Ringo Starr." John Lennon & Paul McCartney authentically signed their names in blue ballpoint, with McCartney adding a rare inscription with his authentic autograph that reads, "This Signature Was Forged..... Signed, Paul McCartney," pointing to the Mal Evans attempt at McCartney's autograph. An incredible item that provides insight into McCartney's thoughts on his forged signature. Overall in fine condition with the date "6 JUL 1963" on the reverse. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
