Offered here is an Autographed & Framed Four Language Ship's Passport Document, dated September 29, 1802, personally signed by Thomas Jefferson & James Madison. Professional framing comes out to overall dimensions of approximately 16" x 19.75". The item is to include a full Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
The document grants permission to "James Webb of New York, master or commander of the Ship called the Maryland of the burthen of 3/14 tons or thereabouts, lying at present in the port of New York bound for London and laden with Ashes, Bark, Cotton, Crackers, Turpentine, Boards, Spars & Tummels…" With two large white paper seals intact at the left. The document has flattened folds, with separations, holes, and edge chipping.
