Properly given the tag of "Old Reliable" by announcer Mel Allen for his steady play and clutch hitting, Tommy Henrich helped lead the Yankees to eight World Championships and nine pennants over the course of his 11-year career (1937-50). Presented here for your bidding pleasure is simply the finest Henrich rookie gamer to surface, this 33", 31.3-oz. 1938 bat is composed of top quality white ash and features "Henrich" deeply stamped on the barrel in block letters. Originally obtained directly from Henrich, the bat has been inscribed in black marker ("9") on the "sweet spot" of the barrel, "My Rookie Bat/Tom Henrich." Heavy game use is displayed throughout the entire length of the uncracked bat in the form of ball and rack marks, cleat marks and a criss-cross pattern of vintage black tape spiraling approximately 8" up the handle. Overall in excellent condition & extremely well preserved given it's age. Receiving the rare feat of perfect dual authentication grades of 10 by both PSA/DNA & MEARS with full letters of authenticity from both companies.
