Dated July 2, 1843, offered here is a handwritten letter from President Zachary Taylor to Surgeon General R.C. Wood regarding his son, Richard Taylor. Measuring to a total size of 16" x 10", Taylor seemingly did not even have enough space on this four-sided letter to relay all that he wanted to, as nearly every inch of space is covered with his script! In college at the time of this writing, Richard would go on to become a general in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, well after his father's 1850 death. In overall fine condition with creasing for mailing purposes and some handling wear and minor spots of smudging to the ink. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
