On 18 April 1963, the 17-year-old actress Jane Asher interviewed the Beatles at Royal Albert Hall in London, England and began a five-year relationship with Paul McCartney. McCartney and Asher announced on Christmas Day 1967 that they were engaged to marry. The relationship eventually ended tumultuously when Asher would come home early from an acting tour in the U.S. and find Paul in bed with another woman, Francie Schwartz. However, there is no doubt that Asher had a profound effect on Beatles history, with McCartney writing several Beatles songs inspired by her, including "And I Love Her", "You Won't See Me", "I'm Looking Through You", and "Here, There and Everywhere". Asher was there through the height of Beatles-mania, including during the recording and release of the 1966 acclaimed album "Revolver". Offered here is an original UK pressing of that album signed by both McCartney and Asher in blue ballpoint pen, with Paul signing on the front across the white background of his own face, and Asher signing along the edge on the reverse. McCartney has humorously (and appropriately, given the Beatles' history with drug use) drawn a cigarette coming out of the mouth of his artist rendering on the cover. This is not only a unique offering because of this sketch, the like of which we have never seen, but because of the addition of Asher's autograph.
