History collectors, this one's for you! Offered here is a 1.25" x 3" document cut, hand written and dated by Abraham Lincoln April 10, 1865 (just FIVE days before his death!). The note reads "Let these men be released on taking the oath of Dec. 8th 1863." It is then signed at the conclusion "A. Lincoln." December 8th, 1863, of course, is the date of Lincoln's Proclomation of Amnesty and Reconstruction, allowing for three things: a full pardon for and restoration of property to all engaged in the rebellion with the exception of the highest Confederate officials and military leaders; a new state government to be formed when 10 percent of the eligible voters had taken an oath of allegiance to the United states; and Southern states admitted in this fashion were encouraged to enact plans to deal with the freed slaves so long as their freedom was not compromised. One of the last pieces signed by Abraham Lincoln with great historical context! The autograph has even earned the grade of MINT 9 from PSA/DNA. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity. Authenticated, graded & encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
Abraham Lincoln Handwritten & Signed Presidential Pardon - Signed 4 Days Before Assassination! - PSA Graded MINT 9!
