Charles Dickens remains to this day a influential figure in modern literature, with such acclaimed works as A Christmas Carol,Oliver Twist, David Copperfield & A Tale of Two Cities. Offered here is a significant 1855 letter that has been written to the father of a younger gentleman who Dickens had a considerable debt to. Dickens would write about the horrors of Dept Prison after seeing his father imprisoned at a young age in many books during his time as a writer. This letter stands as a reminder that Charles went through such issues himself, as months after this letter he would write "Little Dorrit," which dealt with England's controversial dept prison law. Overall in fine condition, early 1900's style vintage framing with expected wear. Full letter of authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
