The event is considered legendary amongst wrestling enthusiasts due to the top-billing of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and Randy "Macho Man" Savage for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion belt and the headlining match between former friends Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. The match between Steamboat and Savage is considered by many to be the greatest match in professional wrestling history and culminated with Steamboat winning the Intercontinental belt from Savage after Steamboat locked him in a small package to mark the first change of the Intercontinental title.
The match between Hogan and the Giant culminated in Andre's shocking heel turn. Many expected Hogan to be no match for Andre the Giant, but Hogan scoop-slammed the 525lb Giant and finished him with his patented leg drop to retain the title and close one of the best feuds in wrestling history. The pay-per-view and CCTV event earned a whopping $10.3 million across homes and event centers that held viewings, a record for the time. Hogan penned his flowing signature across the ticket stub with a black Sharpie marker. Ticket stub shows heavy wear as pictured, none of which affects Hogan's signature. This stub represents one of just a mere 14 examples ever authenticated by PSA/DNA.
