Legendary Photograph, Legendary Subject--The Finest Signed Example Extent!

Ty Cobb's playing style cannot be summed up in one word, but if we had to choose one, it would be nothing other than ferocious. The Georgia Peach would grace the diamond for over 20 years, amassing over 4000 hits & an incredible .366 lifetime batting average. Cobb would be the first player in Major League Baseball history to reach the 4000 hit milestone while always playing with an attitude. Offered here is the famous black & white Type II photo of Ty Cobb sliding into third base into New York third baseman Jimmy Austin, snapped by photographer Charles Conlon on July 23, 1910. With Cobb on second, Austin was playing in for a possible sacrifice bunt. Cobb took off for third and the batter did not get the bunt down. Austin backpedaled to take the throw from the catcher, Cobb tripped Austin over and the catcher's throw sailed into left field. Conlong captured the exact moment that Cobb tripped over Austin coming into third. It is now one of baseball's most iconic images. Adding to the desirability of this original Type II (developed from the original negative within the era, but approximately 2+ years after the picture was taken) is a stunning emerald green autograph from Ty Cobb. The photograph is in overall good condition with minor handling wear, and the autograph has been given a high grade of MINT 8 by PSA/DNA. This is by far the finest original signed version of this photograph in existence! Accompanied by a full Letter of Grading & Authenticity from PSA/DNA and a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).

Incredible Ty Cobb Signed Charles Conlon Type II Photograph w/Superb Autograph - The Finest in Existence! (PSA/DNA & JSA)
