Offered here is a 21.25" x 16.25" four language ship's document dated October 19, 1850 and issued to "Marcus W. Taber - master or commander of the Ship called Trident...lying at present in the port of New Bedford bound for Pacific Ocean and laden with provisions, stores, and utensils for a whaling voyage. Signed in the third panel by President Millard Fillmore and countersigned below by Daniel Webster as Secretary of State. The white seal remains affixed and fully intact. In overall fine condition with one vertical fold and some light remnants of mounting on the reverse. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
