A great bat from the period that saw Bobby Murcer emerge as the newest generation of Yankee sluggers. In 1970 Murcer homered in four consecutive at-bats, something only three other Yankees had done before, and their names were Ruth, Gehrig and Mantle. Though the Yankees were going through some lean years during the early 1970’s, Bobby Murcer’s bat, thrilling base running and flawless fielding gave the Bronx fans something to cheer about. Murcer’s uncracked Hillerich & Bradsby K48 bat shows outstanding use with many ball and stitch marks present on the barrel. Red and blue paint streaks from American League bat racks are visible. A pine tar heavily coats the upper handle and a lighter coat is present on the lower part. Murcer’s number “1” is written in black marker on the knob end. PSA/DNA sticker number G55082 is affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have given this bat a grade of GU 8.5.
