He might have been the toughest man ever to step through the ring ropes, earning and retaining the title through his superhuman ability to inflict and absorb punishment that would break any other fighter. The only undefeated Heavyweight Champion in boxing history announced his retirement on April 27, 1956. This exceedingly rare item is an Official American League (Cronin) baseball signed by Maricano in blue ballpoint pen on the side panel: "To 'Al', Best Wishes, Rocky Marciano". We can see that the Brockton Blockbuster was not accustomed to signing horsehide as his 9/10 blue ink signature stacks his nickname on top of his surname. The result of the signature, though, is one of the most desirable Marciano autographed objects - and the first single-signed Official MLB baseball - that we have ever offered. The sphere exhibits a few spots of toning but presents well. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA).
