In 1998, as part of its 50th anniversary celebration and inspired by NBA's 50 Greatest Players list, NASCAR gathered a panel to select the "50 Greatest NASCAR Drivers of All Time". With all 50 of these players featured on this 39" x 26" lithograph, the 36 living (at the time) members of the list has each signed below his image. Bill France, president of NASCAR, said, "These are the men who define the competition of our sport...These are the drivers who made and make NASCAR fans stand on their feet and cheer.
