Joe Johnson was a tenor sax player. Johnson was an instrumentalist, coming on the scene to record with Joe Turner, Nat King Cole and Ray Charles. Johnson ended up recording at "Club Vegas", a Dallas nightclub run by Jack Ruby (to which this contract references). Johnson was signed to Cascade and released "The Gila Monster" which he recorded for a SciFi thriller movie shortly after signing this contract.
