Extremely rare Autograph Letter Signed, "H Ledbetter," 1 page, 5.5” x 8.25,” [New York City, January 20, 1949] to Austin Fairbanks, one of his managers. The crisp letter is accomplished in incredibly bold green ink on a piece of “Hotel Pokeama” letterhead.

He writes in full (with his idiosyncratic spellings preserved): “How are you to day as I’m ok this is my birthday and I feels fine I’m doing a concert March 26 at the YWHA I’m letting Miss Patti Waters take care of it for me I will let her do untill we here from our boss Mrs. Fairbanks she wrote Mrs. Fairbanks her self so long and thinks so much for kindness.”

In fine condition, with upper right corner stamped, “490122.” Letters written by Huddie Ledbetter are prohibitively rare, and this example is notably pristine and boasting bold handwriting.
