First Edition Hardcover Book "For Spacious Skies" Signed on the Title Page by Astronaut Scott Carpenter and co-author, who is also his daughter, Kris Stoever. Overall in good condition with minor handling wear.
In the early years of the space program, every mission helped NASA's move forward and progress. Scott Carpenter was a backup to John Glenn during the Mercury Atlas 6 orbital mission. He flew the next mission, Mercury Atlas 7 himself, in the spacecraft that was named Aurora 7. What was ultimately found to be a glitch in Aurora 7's pitch horizon scanner forced the astronaut to overshoot his expected landing site by 250 miles, resulting in a dangerous mission. Carpenter, with his daughter, Kris Stoever, clears up all lingering questions about his flight while telling the history of an amazing space expedition in his memoir.
