A pair of signed letters from the 13th and 18th Presidents of the United States of America. First, a handwritten letter from Millard Fillmore, one page, 8" x 4.5", dated March 4, 1848 (exactly 1 year prior to being sworn in as Zachary Taylor's VP). A brief letter of response to an inquiry regarding a local bank in Albany, handwritten entirely in Fillmore's hand and signed, "Truly Yours, Millard Fillmore," at the conclusion. Mounted to an 8" x 10" sheet featuring an engraving of Fillmore.
The second letter comes from Andrew Johnson, one page, penned as President on Executive Mansion stationary, November 7th, 1865, 7.5" x 8.5" visible. Penned in another's hand and signed by Johnson at the conclusion, with content relating to an declining an invitation to an event in New York City. Some light smudging to the handwriting and the signature (as pictured), otherwise fine. Both letters are tastefully double matted and framed to an overall size of 23" x 15" overall.
