John Wayne was probably in a celebratory mood during the 1970 Academy Awards. The forty-second installment included Wayne winning Best Actor for his role in True Grit. Whoever encountered The Duke received one of biggest and boldest signatures we have seen from the Hollywood legend. The offered program (9"x12") contains an inordinately large signature of Wayne against the white background. The owner of the program included a balcony ticket as proof of their chance encounter. Some wear visible on the EX/MT cover but the 10/10 signature takes center stage here. Both the program and ticket are tastefully matted and framed along with an image of Wayne accepting the coveted Oscar statue at the evening's festivities. Measures 21" x 22" overall. Accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
